You CAN have your cake and eat it too!

I could not sleep last night. So I got up and worked for a few hours then got on the Internet and of course while I was there I needed to check out a few wedding cake forums...

I was so surprised at the number of post concerning taste versus beauty. The brides were serious in asking if their cake should look great or taste great. IT SHOULD BE BOTH! There is no reason that a wedding cake can not be an amazing work of art as well as absolutely delicious! Beyond the beauty and ceremonial cutting...your cake is the dessert that you are serving your guest. It should be the best!

Wedding cakes do not have to be the dreaded dry cake of the past. Research the person you want to create your dream cake. Check out websites, references and ask other vendors. Wedding Expos are also a great opportunity to see their work, taste the cakes and meet them in person.

Show your guest how much you care by serving them a delectable piece of art. Your wedding cake should truly be a beautiful reflection of you and the sweet ending to your dream wedding!

Our passion is to make your dream cake a reality.

Refreshing!

Just plain fun!!! I had a great weekend! I had a fun break from wedding cakes, which are my passion. I had the privilege of making a wedding shower...a lingerie shower, cake for a lucky bride. It had all the makings of a great shower, good food, a awesome cake, and friends who wanted nothing but the best for her!

What made it fun for me, besides the great ladies I got to work with, was the color scheme and license to "have fun with it"! The brides colors are yellow and shimmery dove gray, how refreshing! The invitations were beautiful and I used them as my inspiration. The more I did that more ideas raced in my head. The end product? Fun, fun fun!

Thanks ladies for the joy of making this cake for you! To the lovely bride...my best wishes for a beautiful wedding and blessed marriage.

Little Bits of Honey

Here at KB’s we love weddings!!!

But we also get opportunities to help out in the community. We have participated in several charity events. Our most recent was the Angel’s Dinner on June 20, 2008.

We were honored to create the cake for the annual Angel’s Dinner for the Little Bits of Honey fundraiser. This is an organization that helps families who have lost a baby to S.I.D.S.

The evening was also a Gator Fan’s dream night. We had the privilege of meeting the Gator Head Coaches. What a night!

Thanks to Jenny Jacobs for letting us be a part of this event.

Stay tuned for more updates on weddings and events.

We are so blessed.

Inspiration

This past weekend I was honored to be a part of a beautiful wedding celebration!!!

When I arrived at the reception site to set up the cake Leah and her staff from Celebrations Catering were busy setting up. What a great job! The hall was beautiful, fresh and alive!

The colors were such a refreshing change, black and white with yellow accents. Bowls of fresh, bright yellow lemons with little daisies graced the tables. But what caught my eye were the black chairs. They were stunning... by the way I found out Celebrations Catering rents them! How cool is that?

The room inspired me as I put together the wedding cake. With each added touch it fell more and more in harmony with the room...it became the final touch that completed one beautiful event! A sweet ending to another dream wedding.

Beautiful Options

I have had an idea for a few years...one that I thought was a great...some colleagues and friends laughed. So, I just left it alone to sit in the back of my mind until, until, yesterday!

A representative from The Knot shared that very idea on Rachel Ray's show. The shaky economy and need to save anyway we can, including weddings, has brought my idea to the forefront. And that idea is renting beautiful faux, wedding cakes.

There are a couple of companies that do this, they are out of state and would require shipping both ways...KB's Kake Kreations is here in Gainesville so shipping cost, packaging, a trip to the couriers, worry about breakage or a cake lost in transit is not an issue.

A great deal of money would be saved and no beauty compromised. So I have begun to prefect the logistics of it all and would like to make that an option to my brides.

So when you are considering your wedding cake and the one you want is not in your budget...think again. With this new option, the sky is the limit. Dream on...sweet delectable dreams.
