Corks, Cake & Chocolate!
We love it when there is an opportunity to help the community...living in the same town as the Universit of Florida affords great opportunities to promote great programs...SO, when we were contacted to be a part of a fund raiser for the Center of Preforming Arts we were all in!!!
What a uniquely special occasion. A summer wine festival with the coolest theme, Corks, Cakes and Chocolate!! What a winning combination! We took our truffles for sampling and a cake for the auction. We met so many neat people and had such a great time. I can't wait for next summer.
We sincerely want to thank Judy and Michael Blachly for the wonderful opportunity to be a part of such a special afternoon, and help a great cause.
And it is always such a treat to read little treasures like these...
"KB's Kake Kreations was an excellent addition to the Summer Wine Festival: Corks, Cakes and Chocolate. Their friendly staff went above and beyond to make guests feel welcomed. They even donated a cake to be included in our cake auction. Plus, the truffles are to die for!"
Lori Siegel, Assistant Development Director
"We were so pleased that KB Kake Kreations chose to participate in our Corks, Cakes and Chocolate fundraiser because the quality of their products and the friendliness of Kathy and Erika added to the overall success of the event. Their presentation and products were both exceptional."
Michael Blachly, the Director of Performing Arts

An Old School "Big Kid's" Birthday Party for Matt from K-Gallery
When Krystal from K-Gallery first told me about the surprise party she and Melissa, from Masterpiece Weddings, were planning for Matt it was too cute. She told me they were doing a Big Kid's Birthday Party complete with kickball and an Elmo Pinata. So we started brainstorming. Among choices were Cookie Monster, Batman, you name it.
But with the recent New Transformer Movie premiering it was obvious that Matt's Big Kid Birthday cake was going to be The original Autobot. So I set out to find the "original Autobot Logo" My husband, Jason was a huge help in sharing exactly how the colors and shading were supposed to be. So without further ado we give you Matt's Autobot Birthday Cake:
"Thank you guys sooooo much!
It was such a treat, and pretty much everyone raved over the "strawberry shortcake" filling. So I think you have a new great flavor on your hands!
Here are some pics before the transformer carnage that ensued."
We were so glad to be a part of your special day!! Hope you had a great birthday and this will be your best year ever Matt!

Tone on Tone
Part of the fun in wedding cake design is the varied taste of the bride and groom. The colors and patterns seem to go in cycles, just like hair and clothing styles. But every now and again you get a fresh twist to old tradition...Caroline and Charles inspired classic magic. And these pictures, shared by Betsy (the Plant Shoppe), and Erin (Celebrations Catering) captured that magic!
Congratulations to Caroline and Charles! Thank you for letting us be your "Sweet Ending to Your Dream Wedding" May you have a lifetime of happiness.
Venue: Thomas Center
Cake: KB's Kake Kreations
Florist: The Plant Shoppe

Why We Have Been Out of Touch
So, the plan for July was to catch you all up on Fundrasiers, Special Birthday Cakes and of course Weddings we have done. Like I said that was the plan. And when we have a plan we stick to it, that is unless something happens to turn your whole world upside down.
July was supposed to be a fun filled month with Flip Flop and Transformer Birthday cakes, fundraisers to benefit our local community etc. We still did all those things, but it was not how it was supposed to be.
On July 4 I celebrated my birthday with friends and family and my "Flip Flop Beach Birthday cake. It was great fun with fireworks included. My mom even made the flip flops on the cake identical to my Tommy Hilfigers I wear on my feet everyday. Fun was had by all!
Then on July 6 just two days later I received a phone call that no one ever wants to receive. I remember I was at Wal Mart in the return line when my cell phone rang and It was my father-in-law's wife on the other end. I could barely make out her words, but she told me that my father-in-law John, who had just been to my house for our party two days before had died from a massive heart attack.
Talk about shock! No one knew he had heart problems, he wasn't even sick. How was I going to tell Jason his Dad was gone? How was I going to tell my beautiful babies their Grandpa John was not coming back? Needless to say the rest of the month was a blur and family took priority over blogging.
I want to thank those of you who sent cards, flowers and helped with arrangements. It really meant a lot. I know we work together at events but it is nice to know people care when you really need them! So, thank you to everybody and now it is August, and life is kind of getting back to normal for me. I promise the blogs will start coming and hopefully no more tragedies will be in our near future.
