"Sweet" Happy New Year!!!

We wish to thank you for contributing to another successful year. It has been such a pleasure working with each bride and groom. A blast doing some of the coolest birthday and groom cakes ever! Starting this blog was a leap for me...maybe someday I will get the hang of it, thanks for your patience! And launching our newest little creations, our Gourmet Kake Truffles has been a thrill. A big thank you to my friends and colleagues in the wedding industry for your friendship and faith in me. 2008 has been an adventure!! Of which I would not have made it without God, my dear family, and you!

So with powdered sugar flying and mixers humming we welcome 2009. We wish you, your loved ones and your business a bright and beautiful New Year filled with success, adventure and blessings too numerous to count!

Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass...it's learning how to dance in the rain!!

May God bless you and enjoy the journey...Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We Love Our Clients!!!

You all recall our "Baby Gator" cake. Well here is what Donna Shively had to say:

Kathy & Erika-
You two did an AMAZING job creating this cake for me. It was so much fun to work with you both and also see your minds just work on putting together a great cake for me and for the shower. Everyone loved it and thought it was so impressive. The baby gators were such a unique touch and I know you guys worked very hard on making all of those baby gators by hand. Thank you so much! The shower was also a bunch of fun. For any of you wondering if you can pull of a baby shower and tailgate party at the same time, you definitely can. We had such a blast! KB Kakes, I can't wait for you to do my next cake I will be in need for. You are so creative and so much fun to work with.

Thanks a bunch!
Donna Shively

We Love you Donna, and can't wait for your next event.

Happy Birthday Kristin!!

IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY!!!!!!
We are blessed with 2 beautiful daughters. Many of you know Erika...my right hand! I would not get half as much done, nor nearly as efficiently with out Erika's drive and persistance. Thank you Erika!!! But most of you have not met her "little sister" Kristin. Kristin's smile can chase away your blues and warm your heart on the coldest of days.

Kristin has had her eye on a black and gray Dooney and Bourke purse. So when her husband planned a little surprise party Erika suggested I make a "cake" purse. The results were FUN! It turned out so well that her guest did not realize it was a cake! Kristin was fooled for a minute. She said when she walked in the door she wondered why someone had put her purse on a plate! The delicious results made for some interesting conversation.

Kristin, we wish you a year filled with love and laughter and nothing but blue skies! Thank you for touching our lives and warming our souls. God bless you always!

In Loving Memory

Today is the 2nd anniversary of the death of two special girls in our lives. Heather and Kira Radcliffe were murdered in their home on December 9, 2006. Their killer is still out there, free to kill again. Please pray for the their family and friends and that their murderer will be brought to justice.

Kira and Layla at Sesame Street Live 2006

Heather was Erika's best friend and Kira her God-daughter and Layla's best friend. We miss them and our thoughts and prayers go out to their family and friends everyday, but especially today.
